Farm Watch Members' Property Marked

E-mail Print PDF
farm-watchPembrokeshire's Haverfordwest rural NPT have been supporting their local Farm Watch members by running a crime prevention initiative which includes the marking of machinery and equipment with SelectaDNA.

SelectaDNA is a forensic property marking substance that can link property and offenders to specific locations.

PCSO Laura Galdo says "Forensic property marking has proved a great deterrent in other areas across Pembrokeshire where it has previously been used and we hope it has the same affect amongst our Farm Watch members.

"However we are still encouraging all Farmers to take simple crime prevention measures to avoid the opportunist theft such as not leaving machinery and items of value insecure or unattended in easily accessible places.

"We also encouraged all Farmers to be vigilant about suspicious persons seen on or around their land and advise them to take as much detail as possible including vehicle registration plates and report the incidents to your local police station on 101 or 999 in an emergency"

Farm Watch property marking has been funded by Safer Pembrokeshire for further information contact your local NPT on 101
