Kirsty Williams AM, Leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats was in Narberth yesterday (February 1st), to visit PLANED (Pembrokeshire Local Action Network for Enterprise and Development) and learn about PLANED's work with communities.
Ms Williams said that she had long wanted to visit PLANED because wherever she goes around Wales she is told that when it comes to working with communities she must visit PLANED as "they know how to do it".
The AM met staff and PLANED Board members to hear about the challenge of drawing down European funding for PLANED's work supporting communities.
PLANED is the Local Action Group for implementing Axis 4 of the Rural Development Plan and works with partners to achieve improvements in the quality of life in rural areas under Axis 3.
