GET FIT IN 2009 WITH LEISURE LEAGUES!!
Have the delights of Christmas hit both your diet and your wallet hard? Are you wondering of a way to get fit in January, but lacking the spare cash for an expensive gym membership?
What better way to lose some of that Christmas excess than by playing six-a-side football?
Leisure Leagues’ Senior Manager Chris Rowntree said, “There is no doubt that many people will have spent the festive period over-indulging on chocolates and turkey, so we suggest they achieve their new year fitness goals by playing football”.
There is no better time to join the league in Narberth, as the coveted Leisure Leagues National Tournament, which will see the cream of the nation’s six-a-side teams battle it out for the honour of being Britain’s top side, will take place in May and the winners and runners-up from the 6-a-side League in Narberth will be invited.
Chris added, “Many players will have been binging on anything other than goals over Christmas, so hopefully we will be able to attract them to a staple diet of football for the New Year!”
Leisure Leagues’ commitment to stringent organisation and dedication to six-a-side football is second to none, and all their profits go towards national charities and environmentally sustainable projects, for which they have received praise from Prime Minister Gordon Brown and a string of top footballing figures, including Premiership Referee Alan Wiley, Birmingham City chief Alex McLeish, Republic of Ireland full-back Stephen Kelly and former Premier League winner Jeff Kenna.
Executive director Stephanie Bullock explained, “We are very proud of our role in the community. It is very important to us that local people enjoy the games with us. We see it as key that we give something back to the areas where our leagues take place.”
