Inspired by the Beijing Olympics, 1st Narberth Cub Scouts recently took part in a sponsored bike ride at the Carmarthen Velodrome.

the 1st narberth cub scouts after their charity bike rideAs part of their Chief Scout's Silver Award, 10-year-old cub scouts Jacob Small and Donald Bennett, helped to arrange the event, during which the pack completed nearly 250 laps of the circuit, cycling a distance of 62 miles.

"We got a bit tired towards the end but it was really good fun and great to raise so much money," said Jacob.

The event raised over £200 and this money will benefit both Water Aid and the Scout pack.

1st Narberth Cubs meet every Thursday at the Scout Hall in Narberth at 6.15pm.
