More than 50 children from Tavernspite School have completed a six mile sponsored walk to raise money for the Wales Air Ambulance.
The children, who ranged in age from five to ten years old, hope to raise at least £1,000 through their efforts.
It is the second year that the school’s PTA has organised the charity walk.
“We wanted to do something healthy that involved the whole school and that also raised money for a good cause,” said PTA chairman Abigail Hart.

Three teachers at the school also completed a 13-mile route and younger children took part in a mini-mile walk around the school playing field.
“The children really got into the spirit of the walk especially after the Air Ambulance led an assembly to tell them about their work,” said head teacher Kevin Phelps.
“We are a healthy school and events like this are very much part of our ethos. We have an extremely proactive and energetic PTA and I would like to thank them for their hard work and commitment.
“I’d also like to thank our sponsors Princes Gate Water, Andrew Rees butchers and Fresh Flavours in Whitland for helping to keep our costs down.” |
