But Sicknote are a true underground phenomena - a genuinely independent, utterly unique Welsh band with an extraordinary reputation and a huge following. Their mind-blowing live shows are wild, theatrical events, their music is frankly demented - this is underground culture at its anarchic, unpredictable and above all entertaining best. Sicknote have played in Pembrokeshire before - and once seen, they are never forgotten - but this is their first headline show at the Queen's Hall. If you like to party hard, if you want to dance, or if you simply want to see something completely different, you will be there. Support is from They Walk Among Us. Recently returned from extensive US touring, the Cardiff-based trio blend tight, powerful rock with some great songwriting. This one will go on til late! Tickets for this event are £10 or £8 for Span members and concessions.

In an age when music is a corporate lifestyle accessory, it's easy to think that there's no such thing as 'underground' music any more.
